Whether it’s a Citation X business jet or the new Tesla X SUV, breakthrough technologies have been a driving force behind the world’s most exclusive products. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Metropolitan, a customized iPhone valued at $2.9 million, and the limited-edition $2.6 million Patek Phillipe Grandmaster Chime wristwatch all rely on new technologies to enhance their values.
These technologies remain invisible, designed not to take away from the beauty of the objects. “I’ve always believed that technology should do the hard work, so users can do what makes them happiest: living and loving, not messing with annoying computers,” says Google founder Larry Page.
XOJet, a national leader in business aviation, has adopted Page’s philosophy, providing a seamless interface for clients. “We put our clients in control of their private aviation experiences,” says Shari Jones, chief marketing officer of the San Francisco–based flight operator.
XOJet, with the third-largest fleet in business aviation, was an early adopter of complimentary Wi-Fi aboard its Challenger 300 and Citation X jets, as well as customized software programs to enhance its internal customer-relationship management (CRM) system, ensuring higher customer satisfaction rates.
“We’re unusual in the luxury sector in that we also view ourselves as a technology company,” says Jones. “Our new mobile-optimized website is certainly an example of how we are leading the field.”
Clients have found XOJet’s on-demand charter model critical to business operations, not only for the reach of the national fleet into remote locations but also for the efficiency of its internal operations. “Our website, which can be accessed by any smart device or desktop, does not require an app,” says Jones. “It scales automatically to size, almost like an accordion, letting you control everything during the booking process.”
XOJet also invested in making the website intuitive and user-friendly with features like click-to-call, which instantly connects to an aviation advisor on a 24/7 basis.
We’re living in a digital age, so we decided early on that ‘on-demand’ had to mean ease of use and instant accessibility for our clients,” says Jones. “We believe that differentiates us not only from most competitors, but puts us near the front of the luxury field.”
